GUARDSMAN WIN PRESTIGIOUS BRITISH SAFETY AWARD

Guardsman Ltd of Leicester a leading member of Eurosafe have been named as Overall Award Winner of the BSIF Safety Service Award. The annual British Safety Industry Federation’s safety awards is a prestigious celebration of all that is finest in the UK safety industry. The award champions the importance of innovation and the highest standards of excellence when it comes to inspiring occupational health and safety.
The Safety Service award is awarded to companies within the safety field that offer both exceptional and innovative service solutions. By means of clearly defined topic areas customer are asked by BSIF confidential questionnaire to rate the entrant for each category. Using these returns the entry with the highest score wins.
Mike Sargeant M.D. of Guardsman outlined the significance of winning such an award: “Entry to this competition for safety service is crucial for focussing our team on how effective we really are at servicing our customer’s needs. In stringent economic times it’s not enough to simply fulfil orders; we must find ways to exceed our customer expectations. Service, technical competence, know how, and experience become vital. This recognition by our peers delivers the strongest message to our customers that we are getting it right and that and we are a company on whom they can rely for all their health and safety needs”.
EUROSAFE INTRODUCES A NEW MEMBER
Eurosafe is delighted to introduce Needlers Limited as it newest member. Needlers is based in Hull and will expand even further our ability to offer ‘local’ service to customers to complement our members’ on-line and national coverage.
Needlers Ltd is one of Yorkshires leading suppliers of Hygiene and Workwear products, providing small and large businesses across a wide range of sectors including Food Manufacturing, Healthcare, Leisure, Manufacturing and the Public Sector.
Alistair Needler is the Managing Director and recounts their history.
“Established in 1857, Needlers has over 149 years of experience in catering for the ever-altering demands of our fast paced industry. Understanding our customers and evolving with their needs is key. That is why we endeavour to anticipate and embrace change so we can offer our customers the best possible service at all times.
As a sixth generation family run business, we originated as decorators and sign writers, by the early 1970's we had diversified into Contract Cleaning and then by the 1980's had expanded again into the Hygiene Supplies Industry. In 2005 the companies separated so that each industrial business could prosper and concentrate solely on the desires of their customers.
Our company prides itself on the in-depth knowledge and understanding that we possess of our customers and their needs, therefore enabling us to treat them individually by tailoring the right supply chain solutions to them, be it by delivering to them 4 days per week or putting consignment stock into place and topping it up once per week.”
WHY EUROSAFE?
Alistair Needles (MD) and Tony Mercer (Commercial Director) explain their decision to accept Eurosafe’s invitation to become their thirteenth member.

Eurosafe Information
Currently Eurosafe members have a turnover in excess of Ł80m, staff in the region of 450 of with 160 are sales staff, stock in excess of Ł13m and in excess of 20 distribution centres throughout the UK and Ireland.
