Eurosafe Commercial Director

Role Overview:

  • As Commercial Director, you will have the exciting opportunity to implement the group’s strategy, and drive the growth and expansion of Eurosafe, a major buying group in the PPE industry. 
  • Reporting to the Chairman and Board of Eurosafe, the Commercial Director will be responsible for current members of the buying group, identifying and recruiting new members, and managing the full range of the buying group’s suppliers.   

Key Responsibilities:

  • Working closely with the members’ organisations, the Commercial Director will help bring innovative thinking to the Eurosafe Group and improve the way it does business.  As part of this, they will understand the members’ businesses and their challenges, as well as the suppliers’ needs, and then develop programmes that will benefit both members and suppliers.
  • A major component of the role will be negotiating and managing the commercial frameworks and agreements that are in place with the suppliers and partners.  As part of this, a primary responsibility will be the development and running of the Gold Partner Programme.  This will involve working with the main suppliers and all the members to deliver enhanced value to both parties.
  • Eurosafe wants to continue growing the number of members in its buying group.  The Commercial Director will be responsible for identifying suitable potential members, having discussions with them to explore if membership would be mutually beneficial, and if appropriate, negotiating with them to join Eurosafe.
  • With the Group’s member companies and suppliers spread across the UK, the Commercial Director would be based from home, whilst travelling across the country when required.  This would involve staying overnight one or two days per week.

Required skills, experience and attributes:

  • You are a skilled listener, persuader and negotiator.  Must have proven negotiation skills at a senior level.
  • Have the strength of personality to work well with the entrepreneurial MD’s and the senior teams of the member companies.
  • You are a clear, strategic thinker who is able to see the bigger picture, whilst also being comfortable in the detail when required.
  • Strong commerciality is essential to ensure that the £ value is delivered to the buying group.
  • You have the ability to communicate clearly at all levels of an organisation.
  • Clear, calm focus is very important.  The Commercial Director must not be distracted from implementing and delivering Eurosafe’s strategy.
  • You have great people management skills as the role involves managing the Eurosafe HQ function.  Therefore, you must have managed a team and demonstrated that people management is a strength.
  • It is essential that you have commercial experience of B2B wholesaling and have worked in a higher volume, lower margin industry.
  • You are comfortable working in a smaller, entrepreneurial environment.

Remuneration Guide:

  • For the right candidate there is a competitive salary.
  • Bonus OTE 25% of base salary linked to targets.

  • 25 days holiday plus bank holidays.
